Unlock a tablet with the app password
What the “This terminal is locked” screen means and how to get past it.
Owners and managers
Before anyone can sign in with a PIN, each tablet or computer has to be unlocked with your venue's app password. This keeps the till safe if someone opens the web address on their own phone.
Unlock the tablet
- Open the till's web address on the tablet. You'll see This terminal is locked.
- Type the venue's app password.
- Tap Enter.
The tablet goes to the PIN screen, ready for staff to sign in.
How long it stays unlocked
An unlocked tablet stays unlocked until the next lock time your venue has chosen in Settings › Access (every day or once a week, in the venue's timezone), or until a manager revokes it on the Till screen.
